The project of the new museum was realised thanks to the close cooperation of the company TATRA TRUCKS a. s., the Moravian-Silesian Region and its contribution organizations, as well as the town of Kopřivnice and the Tatra Technical Museum.
The space for the existing museum exhibition dedicated to the extensive history of Tatra truck production was created by converting a disused factory hall, a foundry from 1910. All newly acquired exhibits were moved here in the first half of 2021, including those exhibits previously located in the Tatra Technical Museum, which will continue to present the extended history of passenger cars.
With this division, a larger exhibition area was obtained, which will allow to present the exceptional integrity of the collection, which has never been presented to this extent.
The Tatra Truck Museum was built with the help of the European Union, thanks to a grant from the European Regional Development Fund in the amount of 104.8 million CZK. The total cost of the project is almost 173 million CZK. Most of the collection items are owned by TATRA TRUCKS a. s.
We have created a new counter display case for the Tatra Strela model.
